Sue Ireland lives and works in the New Orleans Marigny neighborhood. Following a BFA in painting and printmaking in Chicago and graduate study in lithography in Albuquerque, she worked in concrete and ceramic sculpture in San Francisco and then New Orleans. Currently she is painting in enamels – combining figures, words, and geometric designs to create compressed images of insistent patterns.
